Hello September!

Has it really been a month since I last posted? Ouch! But yes, it is now the middle of September. School is under way and the beginning of the year is always challenging; new schedules, new kids, new routines, and (insert sigh) testing, scoring and reporting. We have been working on our Daily Five lessons. (see Aug. 1st post) My class is doing really well with it, especially the "read to self" component.

9-11.....yesterday was a very somber day with so many beautiful tributes. I remember standing in the bedroom with my husband, getting ready for work that day, watching the first attack on TV. We were in disbelief and didn't fully realize what all was happening with that first report. We went to work, TVs were on at school and as the day unfolded, we all knew how horrific the acts of terrorism were against our dear country. We will never forget! It changed the course of history and tore apart the hearts of the victims' families. Yet our nation came together with love and support and with stronger determination than ever to stand united. It's hard to believe 10 years have passed. We will never forget!

My poor iMac was in the Apple Store hospital for a week. Between not having it at home for a week and being exhausted every night after school, I am really behind in all my creative work. The problem on my iMac was a software incompatibility issue with LION, so luckily, nothing major. The installed new software and it's all okay again. I love Apple! No charges, no hassles and excellent personal service! Now isn't that way more companies should be? YES!
